Explore the Hendry Zinfandel family's with this set of three tasty bottles: Blocks 7&22 Zinfandel, Block 24 Primitivo and Block 28 Zinfandel.
Tasting Notes:
2017 Blocks 7 & 22 Zinfandel: Ruby in color. Sweet berries dominate the initial aromas. Jammy berry fruit integrated with floral, toast, maple and light spice/tea notes. Balanced palate coverage. Full, lively and delicious flavor. A balanced wine with almost infinite pairing potential. Try with flavorful, intense hard cheeses like Asiago, Pecorino, and Manchego, grilled radicchio, grilled figs with bacon and blue cheese, warm goat cheese, and pastas with meaty sauces. Balanced, firmly structured and versatile.
2018 Primitivo Block 24: Medium to deep purple-ruby color. Fat, fragrant berry and cocoa on the nose. Accessible, full berry fruit, bright acid, soft tannins. Medium-bodied. A typical Hendry Primitivo: balanced, fruit-driven wine, with the round, berry-dominated palate that is characteristic of the Zinfandel family. The bright, jammy, spicy fruit of 2017 Primitivo lends itself to a wide array of pairings: roasted pork loin, turkey, pastas with Bolognese or bits of braised meat, or your next gorgeous charcuterie board.
2017 Zinfandel Block 28: Color: ruby. Initial aromas of plummy, jammy fruit. Opens up with perfumed aromas of berries, spice, stem, floral and cedar. Medium-bodied. Pleasant, smooth, round and fruity on the palate. Moderate tannins lend a bittersweet/baking chocolate note to the finish. A medium-weight, fruit-driven classic Zinfandel with enough weight and structure for grilled meats, such as flank or skirt steak, braised lamb, osso buco, pastas with meaty sauces, even eggplant Parmesan. This wine will pair as well with summer’s barbecues as it will with fall and winter’s casseroles and hearty bakes.
